Karzai proving Michael Moore was right all along in 'Fahrenheit 451'

I recall watching Michael Moore's controversial movie, 'Fahrenheit 451' at a packed theater on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach and being just absolutely stunned at the Bush administration's partnership with Hamid Karzai and how Bush pushed him into the Afghan presidency with 'the blessings' of the U.S.

I also recall very clearly how Michael Moore was absolutely vilified by the righties for (among other things) his portrayal and expose of Karzai's political and administrative connections to the opium lords in Afghanistan and vested interest in the proposed pipeline from the Black Sea (that the Bush family & Halliburton apparently STILL have major stakes in!). You know, the kinds of unethical things that the United States of America supposedly stood against as the righteous leader of the world.

So here we are now...seven or eight years later and we have Afghan President Hamid Karzai, the guy that Bush put in charge of Afghanistan as a 'friend' of the U.S., not only rigging their elections and ridiculously accusing the UN of being behind the election fraud (and thereby admitting that there WAS fraud!), but now also threatening to embrace the Taliban as we (coincidentally, of course!) begin to make real progress on rooting out the corruption in his government…most of which, as it turns out, leads right back to him.

Looks like the Bush legacy just continues to plague us and saddle the people of the United States of America, with yet another embarrassment of monumental proportions...not to mention the billions of dollars of 'assistance' we've sent Afghanistan that is now being thought may have mostly gone into the pockets of Karzai and friends, and even more importantly, the many lives we've lost while trying to help the country get back on track after the devastations wrought by the Taliban and al-Quaeda.

  1. Hi George,
Ah, the shifting sands....or alliances. The only rule that applies is "my enemy's enemy is my friend"..... I might add....until he's my enemy and my (former) enemy is now my friend. On and on it goes.

  3. Don't know enough of the facts surrounding this topic to comment with confidence on this one George... But have every confidence anything Michael Moore states is intentionally slanted at best. Certainly not one of my preferred entertainers!

Nor was Bush in his 2nd term either. Go figure?????

  4. I know.... this is friggin nutz! Excuse my Hungarian. ;)-(

Karzai doesn't have any legs and will get in bed with anyone that's will allow him to stay in power. He wouldn't have a head if he didn't negate the US.
